Snowdragon - Arcticordulia horribilis

Range & Habitat:

One of our most sought after and elusive species, it occurs throughout the entire state but is most common in the highlands of the northwest.

Habitat is snow banks, often near snow piles or snowfields.

Description:

While extremely hard to locate, the Snowdragon is unmistakable when found; the only pure white odonate in the world, with brilliant emerald green eyes.

Similar species: None, but can be mistaken for a pair of spearmint tictacs melting on a snow bank.

There are many unknowns about this species:  What do they eat?  Where do the nymphs spend the summer?  Do they melt away, just like Frosty?
