  DSA Comes to NW Jersey

The bug watchers of New Jersey are pleased to be hosting the 2007 Northeast Regional meeting of the Dragonfly Society of the Americas June 21 - 24.  The meeting will be based at the EconoLodge in Newton, NJ.  In order to have access to the meeting room at the motel, our group needs to reserve from the block of rooms available for us.  See the link for lodging for more details.

Sussex County, with its varied topography and geology, possesses the longest Odonata checklist of any county in North America with 145 species documented here.  Daily field trips to various wetlands, bogs, and streams will give participants an idea of the rich diversity we have in this part of the country.  Please explore the rest of our website and see for yourself what to expect.

  • Thursday, June 21 - Check into hotel(s) and socializing
  • Friday, June 22 - Field trips; evening cookout at Swartswood State Park (price TBA; will be collected that evening)
  • Saturday, June 23 - Field trips; presentations at EconoLodge meeting room after dinner (on your own)
  • Sunday, June 24 - Optional field trips
